Our Lewiston, ID location is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to add to our team. This location has a rich history in the community and has been operating for over 50 years. The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing quality assurance systems, monitor their effectiveness, and initiate corrective action as needed. The
position
provides statistical analysis, review, audit, technical and quality management system training, and leadership training assistance to manufacturing and support functions.
Responsibilities:
Provide Quality Assurance technical support in order to comply with quality standards and specifications, and to aid in product and process development and improvement.
Provide assistance to Manufacturing/Support staff by applying problem solving and prevention methods to eliminate quality problems, including assisting with gage and gage fixture design, gage prove-out, gage implementation training.
Assure the effectiveness of the quality system by facilitating the planning and coordination of quality management system audit and review activities and conducting auditor and quality system training in order to ensure compliance to company/customer requirements.
Develop, implement, maintain quality systems through documentation to continuously improve and maintain consistently high quality of products and
services
.
Design and maintain quality information systems by setting up
computer
data collection in inspection areas in order to provide rapid access to product quality status and to control manufacturing processes.
Provide statistical methods expertise by coordinating designed experiments and conducting SPC and DOE training in order to reduce the need for QA inspection and testing and to aid in the development of robust processes and products.
Issue reports on quality costs and problems by reviewing scrap, warranty, rework, non-conforming product and complaints data in order to provide management with data to direct improvement and to reduce quality costs.
Act as designated substitute QA
manager
in the QA Manager's absence or when they are unavailable.
Decisions expected about statistical methods selection, adequacy of inspection/testing, adequacy of gaging, SPC training methods, Quality Management System (ISO) training methods and DOE training methods.
Recommendations expected about Quality policy and procedures, acceptable quality levels, standards/requirements compliance, Technician hiring/discipline, process adequacy, conclusions of DOE's, and adequacy of equipment to support inspection/testing.
Supervise a Tool and Gage Lab Technician and a Quality Assurance Administrative Assistant.
Education and Experience Requirements:
BS in Engineering, Science, Math or Statistics
Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience
3-5 years experience in manufacturing quality assurance function
9 semester hours of applied statistics or equivalent certified training
