Ascension Health Information Services (AHIS) is currently seeking to hire a Systems Administrator to administer and optimize servers and related components to achieve high performance of the various clinical and business applications supported by tuning the servers as necessary. This includes ensuring the availability of client/server applications, configuring new implementations, and developing processes and procedures for ongoing management of the server environment. Where applicable, the Systems Administrator will assist with physical security, integrity, and safety of the data center/server infrastructure including support of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery.

### QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of 3 years equivalent work experience in a technical analytical position responsible for supporting server environments.
Knowledge in two (2) or more of the following technologies:
Intel based enterprise server platforms (single server and blade systems)
Microsoft Windows Server 2000, 2003 and 2008
Redhat or SUSE Linux
Citrix XEN Services
EMC VMWare Services
IBM AIX Systems
HP UX Systems
SUN Solaris Systems
IBM iSeries Systems
Experience with rack mounting of server hardware, including cable management best practices.
Knowledgeable in troubleshooting applications accessed via Microsoft Windows 2000, XP and VISTA systems
Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining all manners of server hardware and associated network equipment, including SCSI, RAID, and I/O topology.
Experience with server performance tuning and monitoring tools.
Familiarity with TCP/IP network protocols, firewall management, and operating system configuration.
Understanding of storage technologies (SAN, NAS) as well as Active Directory/Global Catalogue/LDAP enterprise systems
Understanding of network technologies (LAN, WAN, Wireless, RFID, Firewalls) and telecommunications technologies (TDM, VOIP, CallCenter)
Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery experience.
Able to work evening and weekends
Knowledge of systems development life cycle methodologies.
Strong understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
Good written and oral communication skills; good interpersonal skills.
Ability to conduct research into server issues.
Highly self motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.

### RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate in key process improvements as they relate to the client/server environment in both the physical and virtual environment.
Collaborate with network, backup/storage engineering teams and clinical/business application administration groups to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of server infrastructure to meet business demands.
Implement policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure server security.
Check service desk system for entries on server and server resource issues; prioritize and respond to service desk tickets as appropriate.
Perform file system configuration and management
Support backup/storage engineering team with server related issues
Implement server upgrades, maintenance fixes, and vendor-supplied patches.
Monitor and test system performance and provide performance statistics and reports.
Support directory services and supporting server infrastructure.
Implement strategies for integration of disparate operating environments.
Maintain training materials and server documentation.
Participate in on-call rotation duties are necessary.
