The Opportunity Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative and detailed individual for our Machinist/Mold Maker. Responsibilities:
Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and modifications on injection molds.
Ability to fabricate modern precision molds from blue prints and CAD Files.
Fabricate tools, fixtures, molds and other components in support of manufacturing.
Good knowledge of all areas of machine shop theory and practice.
Ability to set-up and operate all machine shop equipment, including milling, lathe, EDM and surface grinders; with the ability to hold extremely close tolerances.
Train and mentor to lower level toolmakers/machinists.
Perform basic repairs and preventative maintenance on machine shop equipment.
Monitor and maintain proper inventory levels for machine shop tools and supplies.
Adhere to all shop safety procedures.
Follow and improve shop processes.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years machinist and tool making experience.
Minimum 3 years experience with MasterCam.
Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
Excellent verbal and general communication skills
Background check results satisfactory to SEL
Negative drug test result(s)
